Beretta 92S Date of Manufacture Help

Becky Leavitt Fabbrica D’Armi Pietro Beretta SpA has been making state-of-the-art firearms since , making it the oldest still-operating gun manufacturer in the world. Today, the company is best known for its Model 92 full-size combat pistol, which is carried by U. But for a very long time in the American market Beretta was known for its pocket pistols. And the company has not forgotten its roots. It still produces a number of micro pistols in. This line expanded a few years back with the striker-fired, polymer-framed mini-compact, the BU9 Nano. Fits the Name “Nano” is derived from a Greek word meaning “dwarf,” but today the term is used primarily as a prefix in measurements meaning one-billionth.

For many years, I’ve had a bit of a love affair platonic with Beretta gas-operated semi-autos. They don’t break, they don’t jam with a bare minimum of reasonable maintenance, and they are soft-shooters to boot. This includes Browning B models, A ‘s, and Beretta A ‘s which still see regular, enthusiastic use. I’ve resisted the urge to go the and Urika route, primarily because there is nothing lacking in the six Beretta gas guns I still use regularly. In addition to that, my cache of extra barrels and choke tubes are not easily replaced.

It felt perfectly balanced, smooth, a bit livelier than my ‘s, and it was nearly impossible with which to miss.

Great news from the IDEX expo: Beretta introduces its newest generation of semi-automatic service and defensive pistols with the APX model! The new Beretta APX multi caliber semiautomatic pistol has finally arrived! Rumors had been spreading ever since the company launched the sub-compact BU-9 Nano semi-automatic concealed carry pistol worldwide, a couple of years ago: Beretta’s next service and defensive pistol system would not have been based on one of the Company’s tried and true concepts, but on something that they had never went for before.

This is what the company disclosed so far about its new semi-automatic pistol:

While Beretta had an extensive line of popular and effective small-caliber pistols, there was nothing in its line that would fit the role of a large, duty-style combat pistol.

The was developed as an answer to this situation and was chambered for the 9x19mm 9mm cartridge. To address the more powerful 9mm chambering, the production model of the featured a modified Walther P.

I really want to know if this is basically a sizable separate part of your store dedicated to just Beretta now, or if this is just about you carrying a lot more Beretta stuff now. It’s true it’s not a full gallery, that’s why it’s been dubbed the Beretta Boutique or store-in-a-store originally , that’s how Beretta Italy chose to do things, however it does represent the largest variety of high grade Beretta products ever held in Canada! All of the hardware in that portion of our store was flown in from Italy by Beretta.

We’ll be continuing to host events, bring in unique items, and expand the lineup of products available to our market with full support of Beretta’s head office. As the level of inventory we carry increases likely that section of our store will expand. Anyone who’s shopped with us for a while knows we are constantly changing our layout in the store, and the Beretta Boutique opening is one of the most exciting changes we’ve had yet!

By Randy Wakeman If there is such a thing as an all-round shotgun, the Beretta qualifies. The last of the series autoloaders to have wide distribution, the follow-up is almost never heard of. The ‘s release coincided with the series, and few if any made it to the United States. The tested example is a three-inch chambered 26 inch Mobil-choked model, the Beretta date code AS indicating it was manufactured in , proofed with an The gun weighs 7. Thankfully, I’m able to meet with Jarno Antonelli, from Beretta’s marketing department, and arrange a tour of the legendary Beretta plant in nearby Gardone Val Trompia. This collection, closed to public, has guns dating from the s – priceless antiques.

My personnal preference is for steel framed firearms, even tho they weigh a few ounces more, I feel more comfortable with them.

I also believe that we should not be dependent on a foregin made weapon. As good as they are there is always the posibility that they will not always be one of our Allies, or decide that they don’t want to support our efforts in a conflict with another nation, and embargo further supplies to us.

In every respect the Xtreme Unico is a serious semi-auto. Hi — Tech Territory The gun arrived in a green plastic travelling case , with a cushioned panel of Max4 camo keeping it cosseted within. To complete the kit, a small bottle of Beretta oil has also been included along with the detachable sling swivels, small handbook and a glossy sheet of A4 that highlights and explains all the hi-tech, tour de force innovations the gun employs.

Completely encased in what Beretta refers to as their Aqua Technology, the entire inner and outer surfaces of the Xtreme Unico are clad with corrosion proof layers that its claimed will remain impervious to the most extreme of elemental conditions. Unlike most mag caps that screw into place once the forend has been fitted, the B — Lok cap clicks into position by pushing it down and turning it clockwise through sixty degrees, the anticlockwise removal being just as easy.

A vented 7mm stipple finished rib and red high visibility bead top off the barrel. The merest touch causes the head to promptly rotate and compress within the main body of the bolt, highlighting the effectiveness of the design along with the fact that the single claw spinning action and small detente will have ejected the empty hull in an incredibly short space of time. The receiver itself is ready dovetailed to accept an optical sight whilst the main controls are located in the usual places.

A magazine cut-off is located on the left side of the receiver, pushing the enlarged end, allowing the chambered round to be ejected by whatever method but leaving the next round within the mag tube. Deactivation is achieved by pushing the narrow end until the small latch is once again flush with the main surface. The bolt-release is as always positioned just below the ejection port, the short stubby extension that is the bolt-lock located beneath the gun to the rear of the shell-lifter.

Stippled to increase friction the catch allows the shooter to disengage the safety and apply their finger to the trigger in one quick movement without having to alter the position of their hand on the grip. Externally, the synthetic stock has a distinct chevron shaped groove running around the stock just to the rear of the grip whilst both grip and oversized forend employ textured rubber inserts that envelope both areas and are ideally suited to the conditions the gun is expected to encounter.

Comments I like Beretta semi-automatics. Once again, all objectivity thrown to the wind! The was superseded by the excellent , then came the and now we have the series guns which are rather different, not least because they have a rotating bolt head taken from the Xtrema Magnum model.

Oct 07,  · Difference in USA Beretta and Italian made. I was just looking at my 92/96 & Px4 collection and I noticed that the guns made in Italy. Its the jagged edge at the end of the slide on the USA made Berettas. The Italian made guns this area is rounded and doesn’t feel like it will cut you. The Stoeger from Turkey has the same jagged edge where as the PX4 45 acp does not.

A meticulous focus on detail and the fitting of all components, primary receiver, barrel, fore-end iron and secondary removable trigger group, top lever makes each shotgun unique, giving the shooter an instrument that has been personally tested and perfected by the master gunsmith of the world’s oldest firearms manufacturer.
